About

Bios are the worst.

But here we go… Many of my happiest childhood memories involve movies. And some of the not-so-happy ones, too. (E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial was TERRIFYING as a child.)

As a kid, I was particularly drawn to screwball comedies of the 1930s and 1940s. It Happened One Night, My Man Godfrey, Bringing Up Baby, The Lady Eve… Maybe a touch odd for a child, but I realize now that it was the pitch perfect writing behind those films that made me love them so.

And then there’s my affinity for all things horror. I saw movies such as The Exorcist and The Omen wayyy too young, but oddly, they were far less scary to me than E.T. In any case, they also imprinted on me a fascination with the genre. What can I say, it’s just fun and I love it. Especially supernatural horror and horror comedy… Because The Exorcist is hilarious, amirite?

My love of both the written word and cinema has brought me to where I am today. After getting my B.A. in Film/Video at Columbia College Chicago and M.A. in Film Studies from Chapman University, I made Los Angeles my home. Since then, I’ve completed UCLA’s Professional Program in Writing for Television as well.

Everything I do, I do it to connect with people. To help them learn more about the many different facets of entertainment through my copywriting work. To make them laugh – or cringe in horror – through my feature and TV writing. And to take them on a trip down memory lane through my podcast, ‘80s Movie Montage.

If in some small way, I can be of service to others through education, humor or beloved nostalgia, I consider that a win.
